| Breeding plan of Associated Herd Progeny Testing Programme |
| A set of 10 bulls will be put under testing every year. Total 100 breedable females (70 cows + 30 heifers) per Gaushala/farm for Kankrej project and total 70 breedable females (50 cows + 20 heifers) per Gaushala / Farm for Gir project from each Gaushala are selected for this programme. Thus total 700 and 560 breedable females will be referred as recorded population of AHPTP for Kankrej and Gir project respectively |
| Semen doses of each bull will be distributed to each Gaushala / Farm to ensure minimum 10 progeny should be produced at each Gaushala. Thus considering 50% female progeny, total 35 duaghters / bull for Kankrej project and 40 daughters / bull for Gir project will be available for milk recording. Identification tag will be given to all animals covered under AHPTP. |
